Two weeks of class!

I can't believe I have already been in school for two weeks! I started school in the Pre-summer session and have one week left. It has been pretty intense because it is a three week class, that is normally in a semester. So far I am really enjoying being back in school, although I do sort of have to get back into the rhythm of studying every night. Another girl in the program and I have bonded, because we are both from out of state, most of the people are from AZ or have been living here for awhile.

We have been so lucky in terms of housing. With a distant family connection we were able to find a place to live at least until January! It is really cute and colorful. There is a community pool, which we have yet to use. But I am sure when it gets over 100 we will use quite frequently. Apparently, it has been a mild May. It has not broken 100 yet which is unusual for this time of year.

So far I like Tucson, but obviously it is very different than Seattle. I have to get used to all the brown. There is so much cactus! I didn't even know that there were this many types of cactus.

I am going to try and post some pics but I never can figure out how to put them after what I write instead of before.

In Tucson!

After 1,600 miles we made it to Tucson. We left on Sunday the 9th of May, and got in on Wed. night. Although we did spend all day Tuesday in Las Vegas with Moises' cousin.

We spent our first night camping in Glenns Ferry, Idaho. It was a bit chilly but we did camp under the stars without a tent. It was fun, but I think Luna was a bit nervous. The next day we got up early and headed to Las Vegas.

On our trip down to Tucson yesterday we drive over the Hoover Dam which was pretty cool, although I want to go back and take a tour.

We have been staying at some friends of friends in Tucson, and they have been very nice and welcoming. Hopefully we will find a place soon, we have a few leads. I went to school today and got my books for my first class, and met my program directors.

It was only 85 today but it seemed pretty hot to Moises and I, coming from Seattle. Tomorrow its suposed to be 91!

Below are a few pics from the trip.

Less than one week left!

Wow, less than one week left before we start the road trip down to Arizona! Last weekend we had a mini gathering/goodbye party. It was nice to see everyone one last time. But this time it was not as quite as emotional considering it is only Arizona, and I will have normal cell phone and internet service! And I am expecting many people to come visit!

Here are a few pics! The one of Melissa, Loren, and I is great because I don't think the three of us have been in the same place since 2005!!

Eva and I are bowling in the other picture, but don't we look adorable? I will miss you Eva!!

Getting ready to go!

So I don't know if anyone reads this anymore, I feel as though I should change the name or site of the blog, considering I am not in Nicaragua anymore. But I wanted to see if I could do the blog thing.

Moises and I are planning on leaving May 9th, sadly Mother's Day, I don't think my mom is too happy about that:( We are going to camp the first night in Idaho, the area is called Glenn's Ferry, and then head to Las Vegas, where we will stay with Moises' cousin. I think we will be there for 2 nights, and then on Wed. the 12th we will head down to Tucson!

We don't have a house yet, but there seems to be a ton online. Hopefully we will be able to find something cute that's not too expensive!

I am a little nervous to start school again, considering it has been five years since I graduated. Do people take notes with laptops in class now? Or should I show up with a spiral notebook? Oh the silly things I worry about.

This entry was titled getting ready to go, which we really need to start doing. I hope everything will fit in the car, we would have so much more room if it weren't for La Luna, but we would never leave her behind:)

Alright that's all for now folks, just a little test to see if I can actually do the blog thing this time!
